Training and Education
Upstate Drug Testing provides training programs in the workplace, which includes:
BAT - Breath Alcohol Training and Certification
Anyone performing US Department of Transportation (DOT) mandated breath alcohol testing must be trained as a Breath Alcohol Technician (BAT), and individuals performing non-DOT regulated testing are encouraged to do the same.
The BAT candidate must understand and demonstrate proficiency in using the alcohol testing protocol detailed in 49 CFR Part 40. The training must include both a comprehensive procedural instruction and an equipment proficiency demonstration for the Lifeloc Phoenix 6.0 and EV 30 Evidential Breath testing device being used. The student equipment proficiency demonstration must be observed "live" by the BAT instructor either in person or via webcam.
The collector training procedural course and 7 mock collections satisfies the requirements for qualification training as outlined in Federal Regulations, 49 CFR Part 40 Section 40.213 and the student will receive a 5 year Breath Alcohol Technician Certificate.
C-LOCT Certification
The Lifeloc Certified Operator and Calibration Technician (LCOCT) training provides an additional certificate which is distinct from and in addition to the required BAT training. LCOCT certification provides additional capability in operating and understanding the Lifeloc equipment being used, covers maintenance requirements, and is required to certify the operator in the understanding and capability to calibrate and cal-check the equipment. The student will receive a 5 year C-LOCT Certificate.
Provisional Instructor Certification
A Provisional Instructor is certified to train individuals within their own organization as Breath Alcohol Technicians (BATs) and Professional Urine Collectors
Having a Provisional Instructor on staff can save an organization time and money especially if your organization has multiple locations or high turnover. Breath Alcohol Technicians and Professional Urine Collectors can be trained or recertified as needed by the Provisional Instructor.
DOT Drug Testing Certification:
Professional Urine Collector Training and Certification
Under the US Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, an individual performing urine drug collection must receive qualification training and complete five observed mock collections under various scenarios which can be completed via webcam or in-person with a Master Trainer.
The collector training procedural course and 5 mock collections satisfies the requirements for qualification training as outlined in Federal Regulations, 49 CFR Part 40 Section 40.33 and the student will receive a 5 year Professional Urine Collector Certificate.
DOT Drug Testing Certification:
